I was wondering what everyone else thought of the Gladitor class ships since I can't find much use for them. Their to weak to be useable in later missions and they are only good for the first 3-4 missions. Usually I shoot and then run away then come by for another pass but as the number of ships increase it becomes harder to manage 5 battles at once.

Well, yeah you are right. They are pretty weak, but their purpose was really just to assist you in the first few missions, because they are really cheap. You can keep one as a scout ship though. What about making them even faster?

Giving them a little more speed would be beneficial because of the large-ish missions. Maybe a little radar upgrade as well? Like a fraction better than what it is for the Gladiator ships now?!

Yeah, exactly, that would give them an advantage over the Centaur.

Yea don't mess with the firepower of the ship or else that would throw off the balance of the small support ships.

Yea that sounds good that way they can be used in some way for every mission. And yea any extra firepower then it would just be over powered.

How about making them have the ability to cloak temporarily (around 20-30s)?
Scout ships ^.^

Oh and disable wepons while cloaked and if they attack the cloak is dis engaged. So you cant jus ise like 8 of them can't overpower a battle cruiser while cloaked.

Of course. No ship should stay cloaked while firing. If the Star Trek ships can't, we shouldn't be able to haha

Its a good idea but actually there was a klingon cruiser that could fire while cloaked because they framed the enterprise for killing the klingon ambassador and got kirk and mc coy imprisone on a penal colony planet.

Nice, Star Trek references. I believe the movie is called "The Undiscovered Country". Anyway, the idea is pretty cool! So tell me: 1 - How long should it stay cloaked? 2 - How long should it take for the cloak to recharge? 3 - Should close proximity decloak it?

I say the cloak should last about 30 seconds, the recharge should be about 3 times the length of the cloak, and being a EVE Online player, I can tell you the proximity decloak just sucks.
Unless you want to give them a specific amount of energy. this will allow for cloak/decloak when ever the player wants, have enough energy for only, say, 30 seconds with about 1.5 min recharge on the "energy".
