Have been working on a new icon. What do you think?

Looks nice and bright! I wonder if in the future Apple will let us have animated icons, so the mothership could have pulsating engines. Oh, well, eventually...

That's an interesting thought, but there would be a lot of flashing going on, on the home screen. They would have to give the user the ability to disable such a feature, since it might be very irritating. Another thing that would have to be considered is the power consumption/battery lifetime. Still, would be an interesting feature.

What do you think about this simplified version?

Honestly beyond going from blue to sea greenish, I don't see a difference from the current icon

Well, compared to the original: - The border looks cleaner & brighter - The border has an inner drop shadow, which gives the icon more depth - The planet in the background has a brighter side, as if it was facing a sun. - The space ship has bloom effects and a mild drop shadow to elevate it from the background.

Just saying, not very noticeable, unless you point it out as you just did, except the lighter planet

What do you think about this simplified version? The previous version of the new icon is the better one
