Serious firepower: 1x Aegaeon + 2x Cerberus!

Massive action: Cerberus deploys shields to defend itself against the flanking battlecruiser.

Tactics: Crius missile cruiser unleashes a missile volley upon an alien carrier and corvette, while three Centaur ships cover it from smaller targets.

Just wondering since I have not yet updated, does the Cerberus's shield apply to anything within its area? If so, are small wingmen able to be shielded, or will we have to maneuver them into the shield?

Everything within the shield is protected, it's not a 100% thing though! Some projectiles may still get through the shield.

Think of this formation... Aegeon front center, Cerberus flanking each side, mother ship 2nd row center, flanked by missile ships, support ships throughout

Sounds like a solid formation.

I usually have the mothership in the middle of everything since I have 6 repair turrets on it. No point to put any cannons on it since I have tons of other ships but for an even and neat freak like I am, I like the formation to look "even" but it's tough making it look so since I have an Aegeaon. But now I have the Mothership directly flanking the Aegeaon with my 2 hydras and cerberus' in a wedge wing formation on either side of the main ships with the smaller support ships scattered throughout to fill the blind spots. Will add pics later today.

Same formation for me but I have 2 cirus instead of hydras and my small ships are around my nuke ship which is hokeyed so a small but deadly detachment that can destroy a battle ships with out losses.

HAHAHAHAHA... way OP. Meh I don't really use my Nuke Centaur anymore. I just take 7 smaller support ships as my detachment for hit and run engagements on the larger enemy ships. Works pretty well. I usually use the main fleet for all around coverage to protect the OreMaster. And then use the special offensive and defensive powers for more mining coverage.
