I finally remembered to mention this: Character portraits.
The current character portraits seen during dialogues...aren't good, to put it bluntly. Especially the Commander's. They look like a kid's drawings. I think you should either get better portraits or revert to the old way, which was just flags on display.
No offense meant, I don't know how to say this in any other way.
Also, how does a Captain who has resigned from his post promote you (after promoting you from Lieutenant to Captain earlier) to Admiral? I'm fairly sure it doesn't work that way.

A lower ranking officer can't promote you to a rank higher than him. I noticed that as well. Besides, a captain, assuming this is navy, is an O6, or a colonel in other services, couldn't promote you. Promotions come from a general or the chief of staff. If you need help with ranks and how they work just ask as I'm in Army ROTC I can help you out.

Yeah the portraits aren't the best. I'll see what I can do. Concerning the story, captain michaels is actually promoted to admiral in the mission starport one. I know that the portrait does not reflect that. Anyway, he resigns from his post, but as a last act he promotes you to his position. Where is the problem with that?

Well it depends. What type of admiral is he? A rear admiral lower half? (1 star)A rear admiral upper half (2 stars), a vice admiral (3 stars), admira (4 stars)l, or admiral of the fleet(5 stars)? If he's a admiral of the fleet he can promote your player to any rank below him, but the president is the one who appoints 5 star admirals/generals. I'm assuming you have this going by United States ranks and not another countries so I may be wrong.

Finally, after a long pause with no news whatsoever, here is an update, but first, here is the link to the renewed provisioning profile. docs.google.com/file/d/0B7HoTq2dCVCtZUZINFNxd2NZMkE/edit?usp=sharingAs for the progress, CM has been divided into the following turns/modes: - "Attack": You choose an enemy sector, which you would like to attack. If you are successful, you own this sector. Each new sector will provide FSP, which can be used to strengthen your fleet in ANY sector. Conquered sectors will also provide you with resources, which are added to your account after each attack turn. - "Post-attack": In post-attack mode you may increase or decrease the fleet strength of sectors, knowing that the overall fleet strength of all sectors combined, cannot exceed the total FSP. Strengthening the fleet in a sector will cost some resources, while reducing the fleet strength will give you some resources back (50% of the investment). - "Event": In event mode you don't choose what will be done. It's kinda the computers turn. Events only occur along the front line. Losing this turn will transfer control over the involved sector back to the enemy. The game type is randomly chosen; it can be one of six categories: 1 - Defend one of your sectors from an enemy invasion. -> Fleet in current sector. 2 - Protect stations in a sector. -> Main fleet. 3 - Escort a convoy through a sector. -> Main fleet. 4 - Destroy an alien base in one of your sectors. -> Behemoth only. 5 - Protect a Hercules class ship during station building. -> Main fleet. 6 - Assist some EDF ships during an attack. -> Main fleet. So where is the game? Well, there are some things that need work. Mostly it's about details. While the game is essentially finished, it's missing a lot of "deco" and atmosphere. You know, the little things that don't affect gameplay. Thank you all for your extended patience and for understanding my circumstances.

The new beta should be ready within the next seven days. As usual, it will be posted here once it's done. I know it's been a long time since the last beta and I hope your expectations are not too great, concerning the next beta. Although a lot of time has passed, only very little of it has been spent on updating the game. Now this will probably change again. Let me explain what exactly it is I'm going to work on during the next few days. For example, "Escort Convoy" is basically done, but it's minimalistic. You have the convoy, the spawned main fleet, the enemy fleet and some asteroids. What I want to do, is to add some stations perhaps (from which the ships depart), add some EDF ships which are guarding the stations, maybe add some additional dialogs between EDF ships. Simply put: atmosphere!

When you have just the behemoth missions, does that mean that it's just the behemoth and no other ships? I thought that the behemoth couldn't target smaller ships so do we get centaurs or will it be like a race against time to get to the alien base before getting destroyed? Sounds fun either way

Hey you should also check out Arise by ES Posthumous for a soundtrack, it'd be a perfect song for a attack/defense type of mission

Spaceborders been cracked for along time. When I first played I had a cracked version, but I eventually bought the game to suppor the developer but I only do this for indie game makers of course. Screw those game companies that charge 2 dollars for a Half baked game. And most people that uses cracked versions will but it later on if they really like it.

It's nice that your friends want to support Space Borders by purchasing it. I can use all the support right now. The next version is nearing completion as I'm writing this, however beta testing will be absolutely necessary to ensure major bugs are removed.
