What's your preferred turret (both on mothership and on support ships) in the "point-defense" category i.e. turrets that are able to effectively engage alien drones. So Plasma, Laser, Flak, and maybe antimatter???
Also, statistically, which do you think is superior?
Going on feels alone, I prefer laser turrets for some reason. I'm still trying to figure out antimatter turrets and get the feels for them.

My favorite layout is:
2 Mass Drivers (For cruiser to cruiser combat)
2 Anti Matter (For drones and small ships)
2 Repair Turrets (For keeping my fleet alive)

My ranking of point-defense by tiers:
Tier 1: Lasers
Lasers are extremely versatile, and very effective. Their insanely fast turn speed allows them to cover multiple angles at once, and they even do decent damage if you set them to force attack an enemy because of their high fire rate. Their effectiveness does fall off past a certain point, when massive swarms of enemies overwhelm the turret's rate of fire, but that can always be solved with more lasers. 9/10.
Tier 2: Plasma, Antimatter
Plasma is also very versatile. It can deal quite effectively with drones having enough damage to kill them quickly, and it even has splash to deal with swarms. However, two factors limit the plasma turret. One, it has a short range. Its range is just slightly shorter than the range the bomb-spawned drones attack from, so a stationary ship with plasma turrets cannot attack the drones directly and instead must kill them slowly via splash damage. Two, its turn speed is not fast enough to deal with multiple angles of attack. Moderately effective against small enemy ships too, but not much else. 7.5/10.
Antimatter is in a strange spot where it's basically FLAK BUT BETTER(tm). It has alright turn speed and the damage and splash radius are good, but again it cannot deal with multiple angles. In addition, it is mediocre against ships and does not destroy projectiles like Flak does (minor detail given that that ability is actually not that great). 7/10.
Tier 3: Flak
Flak is bad. It has good splash radius but that's it. It's slow, the damage is bad, and the projectile destroying ability is not actually that useful. 3/10.
