AE v3.1

Post by Space Borders on Nov 27, 2015 14:16:42 GMT -5
A new version is currently being submitted to Apple. It fixes / adds the following:
Fixes:
- Bug where camera jumps when assigning ship into formation (usually at start of a mission). - Range of enemy mothership (it now attacks main target when in range). - Behemoth gains experience correctly (reaches lvl 4). - Graphical glitches on some of the space ships. - Spelling mistake in campaign screen. - Enables dust particles by default (fresh installations).
Changes:
- Gives access to Sandbox right after the main campaign and additional content after completing Conquest Mode. - Sandbox now starts with 10M credits, so you can repair ships and replace fighters, without the need for a Daedalus. - Adds antimatter turret platform as an additional upgrade.

Nice! another version already! No offense but i still find it funny about that typo "Oveload" i always find it funny when games or anything else makes typos/ Especially when playing a game that uses automated translations from another language. Also i do want to request that last stand to be more challenging because even on hard its the easiest of all missions except evacuatioin. PS Thanks for giving earlier access to sandbox mode! Youre the best Space Borders ! Cant wait to see what creations that i can make...

Really thought there was no point in having something like Sandbox, if only 5% of the players will ever use it.

I already have a big idea called "The Dogfight" 5 Hydras VS 10 alien carriers (D) Why there are less hydras you may ask? They give out more, and stronger fighters

I want to recreate a space battle similar to Star Wars' battle over Coruscant. Mass chaos. Hundreds of ships blasting away at eachother.

Maybe in the future or prequel add a load of skirmish missions, pre-determined fleets but not linked in to the main campaign. Sort of like side missions or something using other fleets. Speaking of which is there any progress on the prequel?

Challenge Missions would be cool.
You're given a specific fleet, and told to accomplish a specific task.
Like defend the HQ against enemy forces for 2 mins with only a Cerberus and a Hydra.
Destroy the enemy factory within 10 mins with only a Nuke Centaur and a WeldMaster.
Etc.

How long should we expect to wait until the next update is approved? A week? Maybe less?

Destroy the enemy factory within 10 mins with only a Nuke Centaur and a WeldMaster. Etc. Yeah, have been thinking about the same thing. Right now Yann and I are trying to work a little on the visibility of the game (i.e. marketing), after that it's time to work on the prequel. Perhaps this could be included in the prequel, since it will be shorter and could use some extra game modes. Having said that, it could still be included in a future update of AE as well. Speaking of the prequel, it will probably consist of 6 missions. The story will (as expected) cover first contact with the aliens and you should expect commander Haggas to make several appearances throughout it. In contrast to AE, you will find yourself playing alongside the EDF more often rather than going solo and some special missions that don't center around destroying all aliens. It's also going to be about survival and defense, just like the campaign mode in AE, but you might have to infiltrate enemy territory on a special mission once. I'm not sure yet whether the game will revolve around a mothership (like the Odysseus in AE), or whether it'll be all about fixed missions with preset ships. How long should we expect to wait until the next update is approved? A week? Maybe less? Well, that's up to Apple of course. Last time it took around a week.

If "Skirmish mode" as I spammed the forum a couple month ago about. Would it be in AE? or the Prequel? I would suggest AE since the prequel is going to be short(er Than AE) Sorry if off topic

When you said you gave us a budget of 10m in Sandbox Mode, does that mean every ship we place costs the same as it does in the Campaign? What do the alien ships cost?

No it's really just for repairs and fighter replacement. Should last forever. PS: Also if you launch probes, basically anything you would normally pay for during the regular game modes. You won't have to launch probes though, since you can simple place an EDF HQ with virtually infinite radar range.
