*** DAEDALUS ***
Check out the attached image for related numberings and descriptions.
1 - Special powers.
#1 - Repair power (repairs ships near position of application) - COST: 1000.
#2 - Base scan (scans for the nearest enemy base) - COST: 200.
#3 - Unit scan (reveals the largest nearby cluster of enemies) - COST: 500.
#4 - HE Missile strike (calls in a missile strike, good against ships and structures) - COST: 2000.
#5 - Cluster strike (calls in a bomber armed with cluster bombs, very powerful against ships & turrets, weak against structures) - COST: 3000.
#6 - H-Bomb strike (very deadly, powerful against everything, careful: friendly fire) - COST: 5000.
Note: The repair power must be focused on an allied object. Strikes can only be called on capital ships or structures.
2 - Harvesting.
The Daedalus has the ability to harvest resources very much like the OreMaster. When the Daedalus is selected, you can tap any resource and it will be targeted for harvesting. In contrast to the OreMaster, the Daedalus can harvest from great distances. Once a resource is in range (even if not targeted), it will automatically be harvested. When no more enemies are present in a sector, the Daedalus triples its maneuverability (unless wingmen are assigned), allowing it to harvest remaining resources very quickly. Finally, the Daedalus can also harvest all resources on the map, simply tap the button in the middle of the ships menu.
3 - Radar and the antenna array.
Take good care of the Daedalus' forward antenna array and the radar system at the back, as they are the ones giving you access to its special abilities. Once any of the two are destroyed, the associated special powers are no longer available.
Antenna related powers are: All bomber strikes.
Radar related powers are: Base & unit scanning.
4 - Availability.
Not all Daedalus' powers are available all the time. The small colored lights next to the power indicators (check out image) will tell you all you need to know about the status of every special power. Here is how:
RED: means that the power is not available, because either the radar or antenna have been destroyed, or because your attack fleet strength is too low to support this kind of power.
YELLOW: means that the power is currently recharging.
BLUE: means that the power is recharging and is also the next one to be ready. This power is then also mapped to the "energy level reading" (blue bar).
GREEN: The power is ready, but can only be used if you have the necessary resources.
