Maybe a 45 sec cloak with a 90 sec recharge. And no being close it ship shouldn't decloak.

Ok, so far we have established that the ship should not decloak, unless it runs out of energy. I totally agree with the 90 second recharge, you have both suggested.
- Now what about the cloak time? Should it be 30 or 45 seconds? Maybe we should vote...
- Should the cloak be usable at any time, even when not fully charged (as suggested by Normancon)? This would of course mean, that the cloak duration would depend on the remaining energy.

If cloaked, it would be visible if it attacked. BUT, if cloaked the auto attack feature would be turned off. That way it doesn't automatically get itself killed. 30seconds sounds good for time limit. Maybe 90 seconds to recharge.

Yeah that sounds very reasonable. To sum it up: - 30 seconds cloak - 90 seconds to full recharge - decloaks when firing - holds fire while cloaked - can be cloaked even if not fully charged

If you choose to decloak it then it should have a smaller cool down period

I have a gladiator ship idea. You should make a passive long range scanner that goes on top of it. This would allow it to scout better. And when it is cloaked, it wouldn't be able to use this scanner. This would be useful for missions like "The Offensive" to detect those ships with the high damage guns.
