And dsm is quite difficult to farm for experience and locating masterminds, before you get credits to start getting capital ships. So to build credits I go through the beginning missions over again. Fastest ship to level is nuke though... Use artillery to weaken battle cruisers etc, and let nuke kill them lol.

Hm that's pretty high. But I thought about something. Maybe the Cerberus (as a special power) should be able to temporarily bring up a shield, which will last like 10 seconds, or absorb up to say 3000 damage (whichever comes first).

Sounds good! After all Cerberus is a "protector" of the gates. About the shield, would it protect the ship only or spread out to encompass others within close range, sorta like an umbrella? Or maybe you could have to angle it toward the enemy's fire, like you would angle a turret.

Maybe an 360 shield but it only protects its self and ships that will fit in the shielded area so the smaller class ships.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I had in mind. 360 degree protection (ellipse form), protecting the Cerberus and all ships within the shielded area. @marauder It would certainly honor its name.
