Just discovered (for the first time) that the Hydra can be super effective against Masterminds. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) 1 - Switch the Hydra to manual mode (keep the fighters docked, unless an attack order is issued). 2 - When close enough, attack the Mastermind with the Hydra, basically rushing it with all eight fighters at once. It won't stand a chance! Note: Make sure the Hydra is ready to launch all fighters (can be monitored starting from v2.0.8). Limitation: Hydra attack range.

Thats a good idea. Havent used the manual launching and docking except for training hips in evacuation killing purple and yellow things and i always keep my week ships close and keep them docked.

Hm, I'm curious, why did you do that?

Maybe for more burst DPS all at once with less impact on resources? Plus the Crius can get right up on a group of Masterminds and take them out with an entire salvo. Hydras have always been great against masterminds seeing as how the fighters are faster than the missiles. I always have 2 of them in my fleet. Great backup even when down to a couple of fighters.

Yea the burst of DPS and their range is great. I can hit a ship and get it down to half health before they even hit me. Also does attack a ship with the cirus by clicking and using the button which gives the missles a red trail differ?

Actually, I'm positively surprised by the fact that you are using the Crius. This means that it is not just another useless ship. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) The secondary attack mode is quiet different from the primary mode. The missiles with red trails have: 1 - 50% more speed. 2 - 50% more damage. When you use the secondary mode somewhere near alien fighter drones, it's their death sentence (no escape)!
