The healer support ship (located next to the harvester in the garage) is pretty much the only unit I don't use. I don't know about everyone else, but I feel that this ship would be more useful if it automatically healed nearby ships without costing resources. To perhaps balance this (though I don't believe we should) it could have an energy meter, thereby preventing it from being TOO useful. Because my mothership is generally the only thing that can heal my other ships, I typically keep most of my ships clustered near it. If you believe this ship shouldn't be touched, then perhaps a new ability for the mothership should be made. This new ability should function similarly to the manual mortar bombardment or deployable minefield in that it should be rechargeable but instead of being an offensive thing it should just heal friendlies within the blast radius.

...wait what?
The WeldMaster is like super useful.
Can you elaborate further on why you believe it isn't?
It does automatically heal, and I don't see a problem with it costing resources...just use the mining drone, and the OreMaster when you get the chance. The WeldMaster IMO is the most important support unit because it can keep other ships alive, especially Capital class ships that can't dock.

Yep, just always make sure you have a few spare resources for repairs and Hydra fighters.

Are we talking about the same ship? I apologize for not specifying earlier, but I meant the little Centaur-class ship that has two healer turrets. I haven't used it in forever, so perhaps I'm mistaken and it has been updated? or maybe I'm just wrong? the Weldmaster?

Also, spare resources aren't always so easy to come by in the missions. Instead of starting out with such a miniscule amount, why don't I just take some of my giant stock that I always keep from the deep space mining? I'm not saying all of it, of course, but just some extra would be nice. I'm having difficulties on that one campaign mission where you get a free Hydra because I already have one, and suddenly having two of those drains my 250 resources pretty quickly, but that could arguably be due to poor management of my Hydras.

Yep, the Centaur with 2 healing turrets is called the WeldMaster.
Not stated in-game (or if it is I can't remember), but the Creator (lol) calls it the WeldMaster, so it is the WeldMaster.
Anyway, are you talking about the second-last mission? There are a bunch of resources to the right of the Mining Base...
At the beginning of the mission it is hard keeping your Hydras and WeldMasters useful, but once you reach where you're supposed to go there's resources galore.

Yeah, pretty much. I'm just a turtle player, I should work on being more aggressive.
