I know, I haven't been very active here recently. There are two main reasons for that:
1 - My Mac was "dead" and I don't really enjoy the "mobile experience".
2 - To be honest, there isn't much of a future for this game (yeah, I know, it's not the first time I'm saying that).
The majority of people owning an iOS device are probably looking for simple, fast paced games, that you can play just anywhere and for short periods of time, if necessary. Space Borders just isn't for the average. It's not the kind of game you can learn by looking at for ten seconds and at times it requires some patience, which most people don't happen to have. Out of curiosity I've set the price of the game to $0, just to see how it would reflect on the "Conquest Mode" sales and also to get some feedback. During the past week Space Borders has been downloaded >5000 times (because it was free), with a total of 5 persons (<0.1%) buying "Conquest Mode". Now I could still try a marketing strategy, but after this kind of data, it's probably a waste of time. I really just worked on Space Borders because of my passion for the genre, but after more than two years of work and an average monthly income of $90, it's finally time for me to move on and accept reality as it is. Saying that, I'm not completely abandoning the game, but rather redefining my priorities. Maybe someday, with a more stable income, I'll continue working on the game, just for the fun of it.
This may not be the kind of response you have expected, after all this time of silence, believe me, it was a difficult decision. For all your efforts and great support over all this time, I'd like to thank you very much. Without you, the game probably wouldn't have made it much past v1.0.
