Clinkzbone- Confirmed. AM Titan and AM Cerberus don't move, when given an attack order. --> FIXED - Crash during docking at 4X (now this one does not surprise me whatsoever). You could do me a huge favor by opening the related crash log. Here is how they are accessed: help.getpocket.com/customer/portal/articles/500338-how-to-find-the-iphone-ipad-app-crash-logsOnly difference is that you wouldn't be looking for "ReadItLaterPro", but something with either "spaceborders" or "AE" in the name. If you find something that looks like this, somewhere at the very beginning of the log (exact numbers irrelevant) Exception Type: EXC_RESOURCE Exception Subtype: WAKEUPS Exception Message: (Limit 150/sec) Observed 351/sec over 300 secs Triggered by Thread: 4 then there is no need to send it to me, just confirm this. Otherwise it would be great if you could send it to me. Thank you so much. derezz619Yeah, I thought it would be a good safety precaution. When I worked myself through the various missions, I tried to put myself in the place of someone who's still coming up to speed. Having this mechanism has actually saved a good number of my smaller ships. I guess an "auto slow down" setting could be added, but only if the whole thing is really, really bothering you. Don't forget, you are probably so used to the game by now, you simply wanted to speed through missions super fast to test them, rather than play them.

Have reprogrammed the entire ship docking procedure. It should not be causing anymore crashes. I need to mention that all crashes (or at least most of them), are related to a new limitation on threading in more recent versions of iOS. Having said that, it's probably a good thing they have made those changes, but it takes some time to fix all related parts of the game. The only two things that may still cause similar issues are now: Cruising with the mothership and hyperjumping, although both of them have an extremely low probability of causing a crash (unlike the docking procedure). Will check however, if some modifications can reduce this risk even further.

Also modified the mothership supression fire power. If fires much faster and is now more consistent with the rest of the game. The modification also further reduces the probability of a crash occurring, for the same reasons as the docking procedure.

Yeah, about the probablilty i played evacuation many times and had only one crash, before i would have at least 5, but i played it like AT LEAST 40 times in a row, and stopped after the crash because i had to go to bed XD! but, nothing major! i forgot to mention the titan doesnt move but that was already fixed so you basically read my mind! (or saw the other persons comment LOL) and i still need to get used to the new mothership!! Even better, to help you out, i told my friends about this game and some bought it and loved it!! so... yeah! amazing job, i know after years, itll be worth it!

three3prymeReally glad it's working that well. I think once all the additional modifications are added to the game, it should really be very stable. Thank you for spreading the word. Space Borders has more or less zero marketing, so any help from the fans is greatly appreciated. @all A new modification will make the game even more stable and smooth on high time multipliers. You may have noticed that special effects are becoming very dense and may cause lags on high time multipliers. This has now been changed. Special effects will look the same on any time multiplier and will therefore greatly reduce CPU & GPU load, when the game is sped up.

Do you think advertisements will help support the game??? or is it too expensive for ads

Well, it depends on many things. Some marketing companies just tweet and post about an app, but don't use any targeting. A game like Space Borders just isn't for everyone out there, which is why targeting is actually of paramount importance. To do targeted marketing, you'd really have to understand the game and any serious marketing company will charge you good money for that (typically thousands), which I can't afford. So my best bet is to hope that the app slowly builds up some momentum on its own and see what happens.

so back to the crash aspect of the app. I think it might be certain ios devices. Since i started playing hard again on the ipad air 2, ive only gotten one occurence of a crash and that was in CM with 2x speed, multiplier was 4x and difficulty was L-2. It hasnt happened since a cpue weeks before this latest beta build was released.
This game runs solid for me in all aspects
Still trying to get the damn Aegeaon though!!!!!!!!!
For the marketing and ads, it wouldnt be cost effective to do anything right now i think. Honestly it might happen if there was ever a multiplayer aspect added in the future.

Good to hear it's finally running well on the iPad Air 2. No need to worry about crashes in the future. I believe I've narrowed down the source of almost all crashes and that the final changes will almost entirely eliminate crashes on pretty much any device. Multiplayer is of course a completely different story (especially for an RTS game), but I agree that it would be pretty sweet. So how about Game Center support? Having a leaderboard for example.

A question to everyone who has been testing the beta so far... Do you think the matter/antimatter turret should be made available for the mothership from the "space dock" (of course it wouldn't have the special suppression ability in that case)?

Question: Why do the replacements for Flabbers just stay in place? It sort of made sense when they were tiny alien blobs, but now that they're drones it seems odd that they would just stay in place instead of flying around.
Another question: what is AM Flak actually for? I bought an AM Cerberus and haven't actually found much use for it other than as a tank. It just doesn't seem to do much damage. Sure it spreads over a large area, but I like targeting individual enemy ships with high damage concentrated fire to whittle the enemy force down fast. Dunno, could just be personal preference.

I can't find a crash log labeled Space Borders. My crash reporter is spammed with low memory reports though.

Well the replacement for the blobs was a simple matter of aesthetics. It behaves more or less exactly like the predecessor. It only moves as close to the target as necessary to fire the smaller suicide units. Changing it into an actual drone that is in permanent motion, will probably shift the difficulty in favor of the aliens and make the game much harder, for someone who's just getting started with the game. After all, it is introduced right from the first mission. I simply didn't want to take any unnecessary risks here. With regards to the AM Cerberus, you are right, it is not very powerful against capital ships, but much rather an "in between" kind of unit. It deals superbly with huge amounts of smaller units (like drones, fighters and those blob replacements), while still doing a good amount of damage to bigger ships. Combine the AM Cerberus with a standard Cerberus and you have quite a duo. The standard Cerberus is terrible at dealing with drones and "blobs". Drones can do significant amounts of damage to a std. Cerberus over prolonged durations and before it can deal with them, the next wave is already on its way. Granted, a laser Centaur can be of great assistance in such a situation, but has relatively poor armor and needs constant babysitting. Having said all that, I think perhaps the AM Cerberus should be made available at a lower price, perhaps even $100k rather than $250k, just like its sibling. What do you think? Hmm, too bad you couldn't find the related crash log, but I'm very positive it's related to the "WAKEUPS" problem, so I'll continue under this assumption. Low memory reports are quite common on iOS devices, I reckon. I very often find my iPod having no more than 10% of free memory left. This is probably due to the fact that iOS only frees up memory, when really needed (requested by an app). Memory usually stays in an "inactive" state. Once an app allocates more memory than freely available, the OS sends out a memory warning to all apps and recycles any memory that's in an inactive state. If the memory warning has a "level 2" attached to it however, that means that the system might forcibly start removing active memory from an app, which might lead to crashes -or- when an app is running in the background, to its termination. PS: The log might also be called AE.
