Question

So I'm on to that mission where you need to defend a comm link and portal with a space port as a bonus objective, but I can't beat it and dsm is too hard to farm creds in right now. The battle cruisers kill me so fast and then nuke centaur can only kill em every once in a while. Should I restart the game and farm up a lot of creds before dsm gets hard or is there another way? My current stuff isn't that good... I don't have any capital ships i have 3 plasma centaurs, nuke centaur, weld master, ore master, and of course the Odysseus.

First off, welcome to the forums! Nice to see some new blood

What difficulty are you playing on, and what turrets and upgrades do you have for the Odysseus?

I can't give specific instructions, but you should probably ignore the bonus shipyard. Also, there are resource asteroids on the left side of the map. If you use your cruise engines, you can get there, harvest 3-4 asteroids and cruise back to your defenses before the aliens arrive.

As for DSM, feel free to run away. The map extends forever, so gather what you can, and once it gets too hot recall your Oremaster, turn around and cruise away into deep space. Big ships won't be able to keep up, and small ones should be easy to take care of. You should be able to slowly accrue some credits this way.

If you don't want to do that, then yeah, feel free to restart. It's still early enough in the game that you won't lose much.

Ok thanks. I did ignore the starport and i got past defending the two but when I had to hunt the enemy down I kept dieing. Probably I've accrued only around 200k creds total so I may as well restart lol.
