Starting from now I'll keep you update about "Conquest Mode" here.
=======================================
For those of you, who don't know about "Conquest Mode" yet, read this:
Basically "Conquest Mode" would be unlocked once you have completed the campaign. You would tap the "Conquest Mode" button which would then show a map of sectors, most of which are under alien control (initially). Your objective would be to drive out the aliens from these sectors (which were once under EDF influence). The whole thing would be turn based.
When it is your turn, you are allowed to move your fleet (the one you build up during the campaign), from one sector to another and you may "configure" a sector which is under your influence (add more defenses to it). When you move your fleet into enemy territory, then this would be an attack, meaning that you would have to destroy the enemy, perhaps also some alien stations. When you move your fleet to another friendly sector, then this sector becomes more reinforced, in the case of an alien attack. When the enemy attacks you (it's their turn), their forces are weaker than when you attack them. If your fleet happens to not be in the attacked sector, then you must defend the sector with defenses you have "configured" the sector with. The closer you come to the alien homeworld, the more difficult the battles will get. The alien homeworld itself would always remain under alien control, leaving the game "open".
=======================================
The "Conquest Mode" world will probably be organized like this:
1 - Many sectors connected to each other (the player & the enemy can only move their fleet along the connecting lines).
2 - There will be two types of sectors: Sectors with asteroid fields (for resources) and sectors with planets (for support points).
3 - Adding ships to conquered sectors will cost resources & support points, so you will have to plan which sectors to conquer for best balance.
4 - Every time you conquer a new sector, all connected sectors are revealed (element of surprise), initially all which are not connected to the Terran homeworld are hidden.
5 - When the AI attacks one of your sectors, you have to defend it. Failing to do so will remove the benefits of this sector (resources, support).
6 - When it is your turn, you may use your resources/support to customize sectors under your control & make one move with your actual fleet (from the sector it is in, to an adjacent sector).
7 - Sectors can be reinforced with a maximum of ten support ships and five capital ships.
8 - Sector ships will be assigned to you automatically (not customizable), meaning that you cannot choose the individual ships, only the number of support/capital ships.
9 - In order to conquer a sector, the enemy command station has to be destroyed.
10 - The closer to the enemy homeworld you get, the harder they will be to defeat.
11 - The homeworld cannot be attacked!
This list is subject to change.
