So evidently I should have waited a week to post, because I finally got my entire fleet to elite level. Now to see how far I can get in survival.

Hi. Just finished the game with my mothership and two hydras by slowly backing up and useing artillery and fighters to harass the mothership and its guards. By the time i reached the resource Field i destroyed everything. Just goes to show that there are thousands of ways to to blowup a ship .

Haha, so you went with 2x AM Cerberus. How is that working out for you? After all, it misses the shield and may not be as effective vs single capital ships.

It works pretty damn well against everything combined with the Aegaeon and 2x Hydra plus the smaller support ships.

I think there is no perfect strategy. You hear so many different opinions about which ships and which formation are the best. In the end, it probably depends on the situation, on how you play the game, whether you like to take risks, whether you are an aggressive player, or a defensive player, how well you explore the area before making choices etc. etc. In other words, it's very difficult to answer this question.

Hydra all the way! Then again I'm the one who has a full Hydra fleet, so I'm a little biased haha.

Haha, sounds like you are the aggressive type of player. Little defense, lots of offensive power. Kill enemy ships before they reach you. The only drawback is the need for resources to maintain all those fighters. You could post a screenshot, would really like to know how it looks like to have the screen filled with fighters.

I Do agree with that but i mean like what Good strategies we could use depending on the situation were in. but i use these as an overall strategy for me. plus we CAN help others using these strategies

Hydra all the way! Then again I'm the one who has a full Hydra fleet, so I'm a little biased haha. yes but the resources sometimes i need them. plus the hydra is WEAK! i can hardly get away from a situation. i just might as well use an antimatter cerberus. i do have 4 million

That's not my usual formation though. I usually have a much more effective one, but I went with this one just for the screenshots.

Wow, lots of fighters there. I guess now that you can order group attacks, it looks pretty grim for alien capital ships. Do they actually get anywhere near your ships? Also, how much does it cost you to maintain this configuration, on an average DSM run? Hm, replacing one fighter costs $20, so it's probably not that much overall.

Bloody heck haha. That's a lot of hydras. Personally I only use one because of the low health. I have a max level Aegeon, a max level Hydra, 2 max level Cerberus and a level 3 AM Cerberus.
