Alright, here we go. You know the drill, backup your device before installing this beta version.
Some notes regarding this release:
1 - Possible Issues:
- Due to AI changes, there is a good chance the intro video is ruined, i.e. the CargoMasters are destroyed very fast.
- On harder difficulty settings, ships like the harvester have a chance > 50% of being killed (once the action has begun).
2 - What to look out for:
- Well, technically everything. This is a huge update and so many things could go wrong.
- Focus on text. With a new font in place, some of the text might end in something like... <- this
- Test for problems with the various AI settings. Ships behaving completely irrational for example.
- Performance should be better than ever, but due to added high quality effects, you might still encounter FPS drops. Let me know when that happens.
- Does the AI for any reason make a mission impossible, i.e. does the enemy destroy a critical target that can simply not be saved under any circumstances?
- Is the new turret management system satisfactory?
- Are all turrets, flashing lights and thrusters in their proper place?
3 - More:
- Due to the new nature of turret configuration, your old turrets will all be deleted and you will receive a compensation of $50k.
- Feel free to leave some feedback regarding Yann's work, although I already know that you like it, so do I.
- Tell me how the new UI is working out for you. Do you like its new look and feel. Should something change?
- Check out the new AntiMatter barrage "side effect". It throws enemy ships off their course.
- Of course you should also report anything else out of the ordinary, like crashes etc.
